HALO TV SERIES: A TV show based on the Xbox game will be released

Halo the TV series is being brought to the US premium channel Showtime.

The live-action first season will feature 10 episodes to bring the video game to life.

It’s been an exciting year for Halo fans, who are already waiting for the One game .

One fan gushed: “I’m silly hyped for the Halo TV show man, I know it’s gonna be amazing.”

Another excited Halo fan said on Twitter: “After 5 long years the Halo TV show finally has a date attached to it ahhhhhhhhh”.

Big fans are attached to the project, which is being produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Televison.

Awake’s Kyle Killen is serving as show runner, and Rubert Wyatt is set to direct.

Halo TV series release date:

The only thing that has been revealed so far is that production will start in early 2019.

Sadly, this means the show won’t air on Showtime until later in the year at the very earliest.

In reality we are probably talking about early 2020 for a US release.

A broadcaster for the UK has not yet been revealed either, but for many previous shows, such as The Affair and Ray Donovan, Sky Atlantic has been picked.

However, this still remains to be seen.

HALO INFINITY: Fans are looking forward to a new game release

“Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded”

David Nevins – Showtime CEO

Halo TV series plot:

To the glee of many fans, it has been confirmed the TV series will be based in the same universe as the game.

This means the show will be centred around the 26th century conflict between humans and the aliens, known as the Covenant.

There is no news yet on whether the same characters will be used from the series, or whether a new set of faces will form a group.

Showtime’s Gary Levine said in January the show would “definitely satisfy the fans of Halo and the drama audiences of Showtime”.

This means we can expect a good mixture of adhering to the old concept, but making sure it works well as a TV series.

Halo TV series cast:

It’s early days, but because the story of the new series has not yet been revealed, it is impossible to say who will cast the characters.

Hopefully there will be a good mixture of new and old characters.

It is purely in the development stage at the moment.

Showtime CEO David Nevins revealed: “Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded. In the history of television, there simply has never been enough great science fiction.

“Kyle Killen’s script’s are thrilling, expansive and provocative. Rupert Wyatt is a wonderful, world-building director, and their vision of Halo will enthral fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.”
